A truly beautiful rare 1940’s Stainless steel and Gold Rolex Oyster chronograph movement and dial professionally re-cased. A truly wonderful looking one off example.
The 1940’s Rolex Oyster chronograph has been fully restored. The movement is the iconic Valjoux 23 with a Rolex signed Bridge, which has had a full service. The original Solid Gold hands of the watch stand out against the beautiful Black dial with Gold markers, especially in combination with the Solid Gold crown and Gold bezel, it looks simply stunning.
The Restored dial offers a lot of information, yet it remains very legible. This is quite an accomplishment given the relatively small diameter of the watch. The dial ref 3525 style chronograph has become increasingly more popular among collectors in recent years.
The replacement case is not Rolex, it’s a vintage replacement case from a 1950’s chronograph, which is in beautiful condition and measures 35mm with out the crown. The case is a beautiful mixture of 18k Gold and Stainless Steel. The bracelet is a Vintage new old stock 18mm NSA. The bracelet measures 17cm end to end and with the central sprung clasp extended it measures 18.5cm.
