If there’s any single watch thats’s a symbol for the vintage watch craze, it is without a doubt the Iconic Paul Newman Daytona.
The iconic ‘Paul Newman’ dial on this watch, manufactured for Rolex by Singer, is executed in the reverse panda configuration with a black background and white sub-registers. A few characteristics make the dial configuration so loved among collectors, including the contrasting recessed outer seconds track, the square applied hour markers, and the iconic sub-registers with Art Deco font and square hash marks.
(officially called the ‘exotic dial’ by Rolex).
The original Daytona singer dial has been beautifully re-housed into a custom made stainless steel case with a exhibition case back, which is a nice touch to beautifully show off the iconic Valjoux 72 movement with a Rolex signed bridge
This ‘Paul Newman’ Singer dial from the late 1960’s early 70’s is a wonderful example. This dial is important among vintage Daytona’s as it was only produced for approximately a few years.
This watch is in beautiful condition and comes on an 19mm folded stainless steel Oyster bracelet with the correct Daytona-specific end links.
